Structure of the Organisation

YEL consists of 2 sectorial divisions:

1. Conservation Division
This division focuses in the protection and preservation of Sumatran orang-utan and its habitat through assistance in law enforcement. YEL, together with its principle partner PanEco Switzerland, collaborate with other organisations, especially with the Frankfurt Zoological Society (FZS), supported by other national and international conservation organisations;

2. Education Division
The main activity of the Education Division is the management of Environmental Education Centre (EEC) – Bohorok established since September 1999. YEL’s Education Division identifies quality and problems based on the condition of the area of Bukit Lawang in Bohorok to be integrated into the study related to natural environment;  Ecolodge Bukit Lawang Cottages promoting the beauty of the environment to local national and international tourists; Outreach and Education environmental education to rural community;
